Organizing my stuff

At long last! I have finally started my long-overdue task of organizing my stuff.

I used to have two assistants who did the organizing, filing and sorting out for me. Well, you really need a reliable person to do all these “unpleasant” things when you are in a publication business like ours. (Ohhh… piles, piles of papers!!!) But I later found out their dishonesty when I entrusted to them our collections. So to put it straight, I fired both. And from that time on, I decided I would be better off without any help from anyone. After all, this is not really a huge business that we have - not even a fraction of that of Philippine Daily Inquirer or Philippine Star.

The first step I did to maximize my  work time was to transfer our business office to our residence. Yup - a home office. :) This way, I would be able to save travel time from home to my place of work and vice versa. And I could work anytime I want. Forget about 9-5 office hours - my time is at my own disposal.

I have realized however that this set up has its disadvantages too. Work related problems would hound me 24/7. How could they not - when - upon waking up, I would see my table, computer and paper works already waiting. And sometimes even when I’m about to hit the sack, I couldn’t sleep thinking of some unfinished things. Then, I would get up, go to my table again and slave myself till way past midnight.

Well, to make my life more bearable, I arrived at the idea of re-organizing everything, and perhaps setting up my office in such a way that it would be out of my sight and mind by end of day so I could attend to other things such as my wifely and motherly duties. And please! NO WORK ON WEEKENDS! LOL!

Having said all these - when I get done with this job - I certainly deserve a trip to the salon for some beauty and relaxation regimen. Haven’t done so for ages! :)
