My ex-phone camera

I just lost my Nokia 6233 phone cam.
This is how I lost it: I promised my daughter that I would give her my 6-month old phone cam on her graduation, IF she had an award. Well, (un)fortunately, she did have an award. So a promise is a promise is a promise. I had to let go of my beloved phone cam. Now I have to content myself with using an old and worn out cellphone that is usable only for calls and text messages, till I get a replacement next week.
When the said phone cam was still in my ownership and possession, I would use it in shooting photos of whatever fancied me. Places, people, objects, landscapes… nothing escaped my trying hard photographer’s eye. And for every photo I took, I would applaud myself, for who else would? lol!

I thought I was doing well with my phone cam photography. Lately though, when my daughter has started toying with my ex-phone cam, I realized that it has more features than I imagined. She discovered these features from painstakingly reading the manual (I have no patience for manuals), and which features she is utilizing now to the max. Ah, why are kids more techno smart than moms?

Dagupena

Dagupeña Restaurant   where we had dinner the other night. This is one of the oldest restaurants in Dagupan, though now housed in a new building (above) and relocated from A.B. Fernandez, Dagupan City to San Miguel, Calasiao, Pangasinan. This restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including seafoods.

(Side Note: Wait a minute… I just remembered…. A friend who recently won an award, made a promise to come over and treat me to lunch in one of the seafood restaurants here in Dagupan… Hmm… I wonder whatever happened to that promise? hehe..)

Rest house

This is our rest house in Bugallon, Pangasinan, our hideaway from city life. Sadly however, due to busy schedule, we have neglected it for the past three years now. But hopefully we will be able to resuscitate it this summer.

All the above photos were taken by my daughter using my ex-phone cam. I’m happy and proud to see my daughter developing an eye for photography. Maybe when hubby makes good of his promise to replace my Nokia 6233 with an N73 next week, (and he better! :D ) Gem and I, together, would be able to explore more about phone cam photography.

So you didn’t know your cell had excellent features. It was a good idea that you gave it to your daughter who discovered it haha :)

Nice pictures! Better give a Nikon D40 a closer look; it’s not that expensive and takes great photos. Then she can join InterContinental’s Photo Contest, too!

As for the cellphone, do with what you have for now and wait for Apple’s iPhone which should be coming out soon!

I wonder who that friend of yours who’d make such promises and not make good of it? Hmmmp! Seafood? Once my balikbayan friends go back home, I might just show up unannounced in Dagupan.

There is, by the way, an interesting cafe in Dagupan City owned by a young man who studied in Canada or States, Mark, is it? His cafe has a French name. Nice place and great food. Would be a good choice for dessert after having a sumptuous seafood lunch, don’t you think?

Wait for Apple’s iPhone? Ay, I can’t wait. You know how impatient I am.. hehe..

You must be referring to Cafe Du Marc?

You’ve seen the sharpness of the photos that came out in my entries using a Sony Ericsson and that’s only 2 megapixels. I would suggest you get the SE K800, believe me, the 3.2 megapixels and autofocus camera on that phonecam will make you one happy camper. And it costs less than an N-73. Just my 2 cents.

    Happy Easter, Rhodora. ;-)

    Happy Easter, too, Snglguy!

You are one reason why I posted these photos. Nainggit ako sa mga photos mo.. hehehe.

Hmm.. now you are making me think over the N73. SE K800, huh… okay, I will check it out. Thanks!

BW, you know these kids – they were born with technology. I am always at their mercy when I want to figure out something on my pc or cellphone… :D

Really? But those aren’t even well thought of pictures. Just a spur of the moment kind of shots… :-D

Anyways, try checking out the specs and reviews of the different phonecams at this link: http://phone.mobile9.com/sony-ericsson/

tell your husband that PROMISES ARE NOT MEANT TO BE BROKEN!

yes, we moms are really far behind our kids in terms of techie-ness. they know a lot!

I hope you have possession of that promise by now. You are, indeed, smart, my friend. I would not elaborate why? Get the drift??? Gem probably read my mind. hehehe.

Oh yeah, kids are techno smart than us, parents, for some reasons. I am always at their mercy, too, when it comes to computer. and my little one who still lives with us would say, “mommy, what will you do without me?”

Thanks for the tip, Snglguy! I have checked it out… but I can’t make up mind. SE K800 has a joystick.. and I don’t like joysticks.. On the other hand, N73 hangs daw! Ay, I might just settle with N70 na lang… :(

Belle, do you read my mind? Hahaha! But I guess Gem already suspects that the reason why I gave her my Nokia 6233, is for me to get the new one!

Ganyan din ako, talaga. Among my three kids, the most tech savvy is my eldest. But he is working in Manila. So when there are things I can’t figure out in my pc, I still have to ring him, then he gives me long distance tutoring.. :D

What a great way to lose your phone camera Rhodora! Wow, your daughter definitely has an eye. Congratulations to her too on her graduation.

Hey, I love your beach house. You really should use it often this summer. :)

Your sweet daughter surely has a good photographer’s eye. The photos are evocative and so polish for a phone cam.

Toe, there’s some vested interest why I ‘willingly lost’ my cellphone to my daughter.. hehehe…. Belle knows why. :D

The rest house (actually a farm house) is made mostly of coco lumber. We used to spend our weekends there, but not so often anymore now, so it has quite deteriorated.

Happy Easter too, my dear! :)

Well, Dimaks, I will leave the video blog with my daughter. She is more savvy in these areas than me… :)

Glad you like the photo.. The rest house is made mostly of coco lumber. We wanted to make more improvements, but we also had our city house built, so wala pang budget… :)

Did your daughter take the pics? Nice shots, ha? Don’t worry you’ll get your own fancy camera soon. Mine has a camera as well but I seldom use it. I’m just a caller/texter. I don’t even get to use the other features except for the calculator from time to time. :)

Thanks, Abaniko.. yes she did! Well, hubby already bought me a new cellphone! Next in my agenda: a decent digicam and laptop. Now, the problem is – how to bribe hubby again.. hehehe.
