Volkswagen fever

My son and daughter are trying to hone their skills in photography, albeit only with the use of their cellphones.

Yesterday, they joined other members of the Volkswagen Club of the Philippines (VWCP) Pangasinan chapter in a caravan which was part of the celebration of Bangus Festival in Dagupan City.As soon as they arrived home, tired but happy, they uploaded their pictures immediately in the computer, and then showed them to me, with that look in their eyes as if begging, “Please post this in your blog, ma.”

Hmm.. it’s during times as this, when they want or need something, that my kids are quite vulnerable. Seeing the situation in my favor, and not wanting to pass off the opportunity to make them do some tasks for me, I sent them first to errands and let them do chores before consenting to post the following photos:

This is Aypee’s car. He keeps it cleaner, tidier and shinier than he does his own room.

It’s his style ‘daw’ - okay, no question about that.

    Kotse Pagong Over! :D

Back in highschool, my friend Maire and I believed that counting “kotse pagongs” can answer ur question on who is your soulmate. Kung anong kulay nung pang 50 na volks (ex. Red) and the first person na kumausap sayo na ganun ang color ng damit ang soulmate mo hehe

Mica! Pang 50 na volks? E di ang tagal ninyong mag-aabang at magbibilang, considering that there are not very many VW cars anymore now! So, what color did you chance upon, then? :D

Hay, naku, Julie! This craze over VW cars is not cheap, noh! Ask your brother in law - nakaka addict, like my hubby and son who are crazy over their bugs and won’t think twice when buying original accessories and all! Magastos! :(

I like the Volkswagen Beetle. I remember as a young girl I had a crush on our neighbor and he had a creme Volkswagen Beetle. :)

So that’s where all the old Veedub Beetles in the city went. A new lease in life in Dagupan!

Hehe, typical guy your son. mas mahal pa niya ang kotse niya kesa bedroom niya…

Rach.. wonder where that crush of yours is now. :) Isn’t it cute that we associate fond memories of our youth with certain things, like a volkswagen beetle? hehe.

Snglguy, members of the VWCP would go as far as Isabela for bug runs! That is how they show support to fellow members from other parts of the country.

Naku, pinagsasabihan ko na yan, eh. Kaya niyang gawing malinis ang kotse, pero tignan mo ang kuwarto - a big mess!

May nangyari pa minsan, ha… Nag-aabang ako ng sasakyang jeep. Tapos, dumaan siya, di ako nakita. Nilampasan ako, di sinakay. And guess who was riding with him? His gf! Ohh you can just imagine my teeth gritting while I was eating their dust! I, the one who provides him with gas money, had to ride a jeep - while there he was - zooming here and there with a gf to boot! Hah!

hehehe, seems like all kids are similar in a way. my daughter’s room is in shambles and they didn’t seem to care if i call her slob..hehe.

re: your son not stopping for you. i would feel the same. hehehe. he must be too engrossed on his gf oblivious of what was going on outside his car. ahh, the things we do for our kids.

Belle, I think kids even enjoy being called slobs.. hehehe.

I don’t know, Belle, but sometimes I feel jealous as he seems to be pouring more attention to gf than me. Whenever I ask him to drive for me, ang daming reklamo. But for gf, why, he would even volunteer to drive even up to Baguio! :(

    Mica, grabe, ang tiyaga ninyo!

Well, when I was your age, my friends and I also did some ‘rituals’ to find who our soulmates would be. Hehehe.

Eric, my son would be happy to have you take pics of his ‘toy car’. Basta lang huwag kang masyadong lalapit at baka magasgas, magagalit siya. hahaha! That’s how meticulous he can be - just a little scratch on his car, and his day would be ruined!

Volks collection is a fad that is fast spreading here in our place. :)

LOL! Ai, you should meet fellow volks lovers here. You will learn from them about buying, owning and maintaining a volks! They have a club and meet regularly. Warning: Nakaka-addict, once you start having one, you don’t stop until you have really nicely dressed it up with accessories. The most prestige, of course, goes to the one whose car has original accessories. :)

    hi rhodora,

just had to comment again. am salivating about veedubs. there was an old joke about the karmann ghia that even the owner had the gall to leave his signature at the back of the car. maybe, my blog friend lisa of gobaguio.com can start a VWCP in Baguio. she has a collection of cars VW beetle included. will email her about your entries here. btw, wanted to comment at your One a Day Multivitamins. But there was a July 1 spam that got thru. Yes, i do take those too and hopefully we have an ace up our sleeves when we’re all old and gray ;0. hope they work their supplemental value hehehe. no kidding ermin garcia jr. was a classmate …got the pic as proof class’64! lastly, pls do email me back , who knows we might EB with Eric and your blogger friends in Manila while you visit your daughter.

Hi, Joe! You make me smile. I see how you itch for these veedubs, much like my husband and son do. hehehe.

Okay, I will email you. But first, I have to ask hubby for more information about VWCP so I can share it with you.

    Thanks!
