We had dinner at Chowking last night and my daughter ordered some fortune cookies. I didn’t want any, neither did hubby, so Gem had them all for herself.
She opened the first one and handed me the ‘wish’ that came along with the cookie. She said: “Ay, this one’s for you, ma. It suits you.
It read: “You are a source of wisdom and strength to many people. Keep it up.”
Jeez… am I? I don’t even know!
But, thanks, Gem. So sweet of you, my baby girl!

Oh Cool! Meron na palang ganyan sa Chowking, masubukan nga just for fun.
You do ! You always have to believe your children !
I tried one of their fortunes cookies during Chinese New Year… I don’t remember what was inside
Why not try, Major Tom? It might say something nice for you too, just for fun!
Thanks!
Hi, Belle! Thanks for the kind words.
It’s fun to crack fortune cookies, di ba? What the wishes say may not be true at all, but they provide good topic for conversation while dining.
Go ahead and try them, Ferdz, for fun!
Thanks, Sidney. Guess children say what they mean and mean what they say, don’t you think?
Well, maybe what was written inside your fortune cookie was not applicable to you, so you don’t remember it anymore… hehehe..
Wow, source of wisdom and strength. That’s a great compliment, especially coming from your daughter.
You are Tita Rhodora!
I’ll be back in Dagupan by Tuesday.. hay.. hehehe
Thanks, Irene. Sabi nga ng hubby ko, magtayo na lang daw kaming mag-ina ng “Mutual Admiration Club”. hahaha!
Hi, Mica! You’re done with your internship? That’s good! Magkikita na rin tayo sa wakas!
true naman yun Rhodora, pakiramdam ko, she meant it from the bottom of her heart. as to us your friends, di ba we are sources of wisdom to one another? by sharing our experiences, we learn from each other.
Like everyone else, I too didn’t know that Chow King has those little fortune cookies now. Somebody’s making a fortune out of them, hehe.
Sweet nang anak mo… little gestures can be real treasures ‘no?
Thank you, Dine.
Yes, you are right - friends are also sources of wisdom to one another. Just by reading your blog, I learn a lot!
What are you waiting for, Snglguy? Go ahead and have some fortune cookies and help make that somebody gain more fortune!
Auee, little gestures are those that we often take for granted, right? But if we really look closer, they truly mean a lot.
Thanks for dropping by, Auee!
That’s so sweet! It’s heartwarming to know that your daughter sees you that way.
