Janette Toral of Digital Filipino is running a project on the search for Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2007 ( blogs that started anytime from August 1, 2006 to the present).
Well, actually, the last day for nominations in this search is tomorrow, July 28. Therefore to those who have some contenders in mind, you still have until tomorrow to make your nominations.
I am making my nominations too. However, despite the fact that there are quite a number of blogs there that I know will highly qualify, I opted to nominate just two:
1) Dagupeña Dreamer by Micamyx
2) Loving Carlo by Micamyx
Two blogs by one charming, lovable and loving fellow Dagupeña.
But why these two blogs?
Mica is a 20-year old graduating IT student from Dagupan City. At her age, one might have the impression that — like many other girls at this stage — her second home is the mall, and her library is the coffee joint. But Mica is none of these, for while most of her friends and peers are out malling or bar/coffee joint hopping, Mica is home blogging. And boy, is she a prolific blogger!
In her blogs, Mica expresses herself in a mature fashion - though in many ways - contrastingly so very her age. She writes animatedly about her passions, her family, her thoughts, her dreams and her advocacies. And yes, she talks lovingly about her only sibling, Carlo.
Mica is the older child of two siblings. She has a 12-year old brother named Carlo who had been diagnosed of autism. If you happen to visit her site, you will note how Mica dotes on her brother so. She is evidently a proud sister of an autistic brother and never will she ever be ashamed of him, nor will she ever hide his true condition from others.
Through blogging, Mica hopes to share with her readers her life experiences as a budding Filipina. And most of all, she hopes to create awareness on autism in the Philippines - which, sadly, is still considered as stigma for a family with a member falling under such special condition.
Mica’s blogs may still be young yet I truly believe they are fast emerging as among the top influential blogs. Knowing of her advocacies, to my mind, Mica’s blogs deserve to be acknowledged as having great potentials to affect the sensibilities of her readers, particularly on the passions she so loves to write about.
Now, if you happen to read this, and have not made any nominations - a vote for Micamyx will be so much appreciated. Thank you.
I’ll check her site out!
Thank you daw sabi nya…
