THIS is our fence as viewed from the outside.
Too secured you say? Try living in our neighborhood.

‘Good fences make good neighbors’. - Robert Frost
I understand the security measures. My fear though with a too enclosed fence is when there is a fire accident. You have provided for it right?
Yes, Noemi, we have. The gate is very accessible, and the grille fence has a secret opening which can be easily unhooked from the inside in case of emergency.
And I thought it’s only in Manila where people purposely “Jail” themselves in their house to keep out criminals, pati diyan din pala… hay
Hi, Sngl!
Well, our place is also a city, albeit a small one, and the downtown area is, accordingly, fast turning into a “Little Quiapo”.
But I don’t want to scare people from visiting Dagupan. It is a nice, peaceful place with friendly and accommodating people. Come and visit us. We have the best tasting bangus in the whole world.
Prevention is better than cure, definitely.
(:
Yes, indeed, Kyels.
Forget about security and fire exits! Check out and admire instead the lines and perspective of this photograph
Hmmmm … an upcoming photoblogger we have here, eh?
Can’t help but laugh out loud over your comment, Eric.
I was actually trying to photograph a dragonfly here, but its color is so close to that of the leaves, so it turned out not so visible in the pic. Plus, I was just using a cam phone.
But thank you, Eric! Your comment made my day. haha!
There was a quote I read before that asks whether we’re keeping people out or are we locking ourselves in?
I fully understand the need for such security.
Hi Rhodora! Nice to see you back! I agree with Eric… that is a very artistic photo of your house.
Too secured? What the heck! All I can see is your beautiful orchids. I agree with Eric’s comment, the future photoblogger is about to come.
Asan yung dragonfly?
Oh well, better safe than sorry, that’s what I always say

yes, that orchid is lovely, always remind me of my nanay, who loves orchids to the core
Kasing taas ng bakod ng central bank ang bakod nyo ah.
Ok lang yan kung ang mga bakasyonistang kawatan ay walang motto na if there is a will, there is a way. biro lang.
lollerskates, i can climb our own gate and wall. but our neighborhood is a nice place to be in. the entrance is guarded by a barangay hall and they’re usually awake all hours.
Hi, Auee!
As to whether we are keeping other people out or locking ourselves in - maybe it’s both? Depends on one’s purpose, actually. Sometimes we just withdraw and lock ourselves in, and in the process we are also keeping other people out, not wanting them to intrude in our privacy.
Ay, which is which - naguluhan na ako. hehe.
Hi, Toe! Thanks. hehe.
LAR!
Ay naku, the orchids - they are so stubborn. They keep on pushing themselves out of the fence. This part of our house is facing east, so maybe they are just following the sun.
Salamat, LAR!
KongKong, pag nakita mo yung dragonfly, may premyo ka! hahaha!
You’re so right, Pining. Our fence actually was originally not this high. But we were victims of theft twice, so we had no choice but to add more grills.
Your mom is an orchid lover too? I bet she has a garden packed with these pretty plants.
Thanks, Pining!
Myepinoy, kulang pa nga yan, eh. Balak ko pang magpa-install ng alarm dyan sa mga grills, yung tipong kapag may nag-attempt na umakyat, makukuryente siya! hahaha! Wicked me.
Hi, Liz! Kaya nga, Marco has no escape when he’s in our house, e. hehe. But actually, he says he feels claustrophobic when in our house. Maliit lang kasi, and it’s taking us forever to finish the upper floor.
i hope the burglars leave that beautiful orchids alone. burglary is rampant na pala diyan sa atin. at least dito, i can leave the house with doors unlock for a day.
Surprisingly, Belle, no one ever touches those orchids, though jutting out of the fence and unto the road.
Wow, leaving the house unlocked for a day - I wish we could do that here too!
