The weirdness of me

pens

I have this one weirdness. I carry all these pens in my bag. No kidding. Actually, I need to buy new ones again at National Bookstore. As you can see - except for one - they are all nearly drained.

My fetish for pens started when I enrolled at the College of Law. One of the assets that a wannabe lawyer must possess - is good handwriting. And to achieve this - practice, patience and good pens are must haves.

I am not aiming to take the bar for I know my limitations. If I were only younger, and perhaps single - then I would certainly go for it. In my situation now, however, hurdling the bar exams is a remote possibility for me.

As a multi-tasking mom, I can’t totally focus anymore on whatever personal endeavor I am preoccupied with. And though I am still able to have a good grasp and retention of what I am reading or studying, there are many times when my mind just wanders off to other concerns - my kids, my husband, my work, the laundry, grocery shopping, marketing, house cleaning, the noisy neighbors, the cats… AND, did I say - BLOGGING?

Yet who knows? I might change my mind. Hopefully things might work in my favor. We never can tell, really. So as of now, I still do a lot of long hand writing to improve my penmanship.

handwritingTell me, is this readable enough? :)

Hi Rhodora!! Pareho tayo ng fetish!! I love gel pens and they have to be 0.7 tipped or else dumudulas. Plus, I have to have them in all the colors. I just love them in purple and aqua. Naku, my husband steals them. And…he’s a lawyer..hahaha :)

Kongkong, di ba masyadong makapal yung 0.7? I go for either o.4 or 0.5. But I’ll try 0.7 next time and take your word for it. :)

Naku, your lawyer husband stealing pens from you? Mag file ka ng complaint. hehehe.

I also got my fetish for pens in lawschool. Yup… like yours… I like those black smooth-writing ones. Mine are Pilot V5. I still use those and refuse to use anything else. I think you have very nice legible handwriting Rhodora.

And I’m sure you’ll do well in the bar. Think how proud your kids would be if their mom would take the bar. :)

Toe! Pilot V5 pens are quite pricey but yes - they write nicely and smoothly.

Naku, di kaya ng powers ko ang bar. hehehe. But thanks for your encouragement. :)

where I used to work I accumulated a lot of pens too, by accident–just goes straight to my bag for some reason, only difference is they’re the cheapy ones as opposed to yours he he
… and as opposed to being a doctor, one qualification is to have a lousy one!
    love your handwriting:-)

Very interesting fetish you have :)

I used to have good penmanship but too much reliance on word processors and printers destroyed it :)

Doctors seem have the worst penmanship. Sometimes I’m scared that the pharmacists might not able to read the prescirptions hehe :)

Pining, so you also collected pens, huh. :)

Yes, you’re correct about lawyers as opposed to doctors - haha!

    Thanks, Pining!

    Hi, BW!

Yes, your fear is valid. I believe though that pharmacists are trained how to decipher doctors’ prescriptions. If I’m not mistaken, there is such subject included in the pharmacy curriculum.

I think that’s wonderful handwriting. I can’t write anymore :( Ever since I got my own typewriter way back in college and then my very first PC in the 80’s — I never had any need to handwrite anything only type!

My handwriting is not only embarrassing, it’s atrocious :(

    Thanks, Eric.

Well, I have no problem with my handwriting or penmanship. However, I have a problem with writing or composing articles/letters or whatnots. I can’t seem to do it anymore in long hand - only with computer now. It’s as if the tip of my fingers have brains of their own! :D

THIS IS FOR EVERYONE TO KNOW:
my mom would bribe me to buy her a pen and from home, go all the way to City mall which is like SM North Edsa to SM Megamall. That far, just for a pen. A PEN! Is my mother sane? :D

Gem, bleh! Kabibili ko lang ngayon. Went there right after my class in political law review. I am switching to 0.7. I think Kongkong is right - this tip number writes better.

Woman of letters ka talaga. Draining all those pens dry. I love pens too but I have a penchant for losing them. So you can catch me without one even on my office desk. Dyahi.

Oooh you got to try and take the bar. You can do it. I know you can. Didn’t I cite you as exemplary of a goldie who is making goodie as law student and later as lawyer. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Hi, Anna! I love writing and doodling with pens, that’s why those pens got drained.

Thanks for your encouragement. I’ll cross the bridge when I get there. :)
